The last Trial after a hugely successful season 2024/25 season for Dove Valley. Four retriever Trials and four spaniel Trials, all run smoothly with great results. Many thanks to our army of helpers, who without we couldn’t do what we do so well. Jane Burton, Heather Clarke, Hayley Clarkson, Cherryl Jones as Judges & Gallery Stewards. Paul Woodock, Jon Fern, Philip Walton and Julia Bott bringing the birds down, Martin & Holga visiting from Germany as Game Carriers, and our Chairman Bob Seaman as Chief Steward. Once again, Dove Valley’s hospitality excelled with a delicious breakfast from Helen Seaman and lunch provided by Alison for those who stayed behind after the awards.

This Trial at Cubley was particularly poignant, as it is the last one under the Keepership of Shane Wood who is moving on to pastures new at the end of this season. Shane has been a fabulous advocate of dog work at Cubley, inviting us back year after year, for training, working tests and Trials. We will miss him hugely, and wish him well with his new adventure in Ireland.
