Retriever Field Trials 2024-2025
We respectfully request that all participants at our Field Trials observe the correct dress code as befits the tradition of our sport.
ENTRIES MUST be by the WEBSITE or POST only.
LATE PAYMENT OF ENTRY FEES - Entry Fees must be paid within 7 days of the draw date, and no later than 7 days before the trial date, if payment is delayed the successful owner may lose the opportunity to run due to late payment. Reminders will be sent to the members registered mobile device or via email. Failure to respond will result in the Members run be offered to the next available reserve.
No entries will be accepted by Email unless verbally agreed with the FT Sec.
All successful WEBSITE entries will be confirmed by email.
If you receive no email, then your entry has not been accepted. Entries can be checked on the events page you have just used to enter the stake. Check the 'Entries' tab. On-line Entries - Entrants must pay on acceptance of a run.

Cheques must be made payable to Dove Valley Working Gundog Club. Postal orders will not be accepted Trophy and prize details will be printed on the card on the day of the trial.
DEFINITION OF STAKE AS PER KENNEL CLUB RULES J3 d (1) (2) (3):
Open
A Stake in which dogs have the opportunity of gaining a qualification towards the title of Field Trial Champion (K Regulations refer) and towards entry in the Championship or Champion Stake for its breed; in which entry is open to all dogs of a specified breed or breeds except that such Stakes may not be confined to Any Variety Spaniel [except Spaniel (Cocker) and Spaniel (English Springer)]. It may be limited to a prescribed number of runners, in which case these shall be decided by a draw conducted in accordance with Regulation J6.i. so that preference is given to previous performance.
All Aged
A Stake which is open to all dogs of a specified breed or breeds without restriction as to their age, but which may be restricted by any other conditions which may be determined by the society subject to the approval of the General Committee of The Kennel Club. Preference will be given to those dogs with a field trial award including a certificate of merit.
Novice
Retrievers, Spaniels and Breeds which Hunt, Point and Retrieve: A Stake which is confined to dogs which have not gained a place, or places, which would qualify them for first preference in the draw for Open Stakes
All our Trials are held under Kennel Club Ltd. Rules and Field Trial Regulations. Should circumstances so dictate, the Club, in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the KC at the earliest opportunity. Substitution of dogs will be allowed subject to qualification as above.

Draw results and directions to all trials will be sent out by email and post to postal applicants.
Trophy and prize details will be printed on the card on the day of the trial. A quick text or telephone call to let me know if you are able to run or not would be much appreciated.
